People who live in Florida are quite lucky, several major air shows are held in the State throughout the year. With earplugs in and cameras out more than 95,000 people watched the jaw dropping, gravity defying tricks presented at the 2011 Gulf Coast Salute Open House and Air Show.
This year’s event highlight was the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, in their 58th season representing the pride, precision and professionalism of the men and women of the United States Air Force. In addition such civilian performers such as "Tora, Tora, Tora" with replica Japanese aircraft, Greg Poe, with a good selection military aircraft in the air and ground displays gave the visitors further enjoyment. Some of the aircraft dated back to WWII such as the B-25, and the P-51 Mustang.
The show had the typical AFB restrictions for the attendees; no food, drink or coolers, etc were allowed. Refreshments and typical event foods were available at typical event pricing, in other words expensive. Sanitary facilities were adequate.
